Product Description

The Imgut® Velutina Trap Pro with shelter and roof is a selective live trap for capturing the Asian hornet (Vespa velutina). Thanks to its 5-liter collection container, it provides the captured insects with plenty of space and is designed for use at the apiary.

The trap features an entry funnel and an attractant container. At the same time, other insects can escape through the mesh depending on their size or be released if necessary.

Quick Guide – Imgut® Velutina Trap Pro

1. Set Up & Choose a Location

  • Hang the trap at the level of the flight hole or slightly below it.
  • Choose a location where you can check the trap regularly.

2. Prepare the attractant

  • Pour the attractant into the attractant container.
  • Insertthe float to prevent insects from landing in the attractant unnecessarily.

3. Set up the trap

  • Insertthe entry funnel correctly.
  • Close the lid and check the latches.

4. Inspection

  • Check the trap at regular intervals.
  • Release non-target insects if necessary.

5. Cleaning & Storage

  • Empty the collection container and clean it with water.
  • Store parts in a dry place; keep the wooden casing clean.
Please use exclusively for the Vespa velutina (Asian hornet).

Please release other insects and the specially protected Vespa Crabro (European hornet) from the trap, e.g., by cooling it briefly in the refrigerator beforehand.

Place the trap in a shaded area out of direct sunlight and check it daily.
