Product description

The water harp offers an easy-to-install solution against the Asian hornet. Precisely tensioned wires ensure selective trapping without endangering bees, while the electrical system works reliably even in damp conditions. Moisture-proof connections allow several harps to be connected in parallel. The integrated water trap safely catches stunned hornets - a few drops of soap increase the effectiveness. Solar operation makes the system particularly sustainable and self-sufficient.

Simple installation & low maintenance

The easily replaceable wires and robust ceramic insulators make installation particularly straightforward. The heat- and acid-resistant components reduce maintenance to a minimum.

Precise & bee-friendly catching technology

The precisely adjusted wire tension ensures an ideal distance of 20 mm, so that Asian hornets (Vespa velutina) are caught in a targeted manner while bees can pass through safely.

Optimized electrical system

The positive pole is routed via cable, the negative pole via the chassis - this minimizes current leakage and increases operational reliability even in damp or difficult operating conditions.

Do not place the harp too close to the Entrance. The optimum position is parallel to the Entrances to maximize effectiveness. Early installation is recommended to prevent the rapid development of hornet nests and thus maximize the effectiveness of the device.

By adding a few drops of liquid soap to the water, the surface tension is broken so that the water trap can more effectively prevent hornets from escaping.

When powered by the solar panel, it is advisable to change the position of this device regularly, especially in shady areas. The hornets could get used to the location of the trap and then use a different route to attack your colony.

On average, with a good catch ratio, only about 4-5 bees per 100 hornets caught will get lost in the trap.
