The stainless steel angle screw is the right spare part for our Imgut^® brood-stop frames and the Imgut^® Mini Plus brood-stop frame. The angle screws are used to attach the Queen Excluders on one side at the top so that it can be bent open when the screws are turned to the side, making it easier to catch the queen.

Use of the Imgut^® brood stop grid frame

The wooden frame with plastic Queen Excluders on both sides makes it possible to cage the queens, i.e. to hold them inside the brood-stop grid frame and thus keep the colony brood-free. It can be used in the summer after the second Honey Harvest or in the fall/winter. The slope allows the cluster of bees to settle around the queen during winter use. The material thickness of the wooden upper beam is only 10 mm to prevent wild bees from building in the empty area under the slope. To release the queen after caging, the Imgut^® brood-stop frames have an outlet opening on one side, which is closed with a small plate that can be turned to the side. In addition, the Queen Excluders have two stainless steel angle screws on one side, which are used to slightly bend open the plastic barrier to make it easier to release the queen.
