The 10 Frame DN Compact Hive Glass Holder for comb honey is the practical solution if you want to produce comb honey directly in a glass jar. The glass holder fits into the 10 Frame DN Compact Hive according to Dr . Liebig and is ideal for beekeepers who want to present and sell their honey in a high-quality manner.

The perforated plate is simply placed on the frames of a hive body and filled with empty honey jars. Then, you place an empty hive box on top. As the nectar flow progresses, the bees will independently fill the jars with fresh comb honey.

Der Einsatz ist fur die 10er Liebig DN Kompaktbeute ausgelegt und wird auf die Rahmchen einer Zarge aufgelegt.

Pro Einsatz kannst du 16 Glaeser mit einer Deckeloffnung von etwa 78-82 mm verwenden.

Bewaehrt haben sich Honigglaeser von 500 g bis 1000 g, zum Beispiel Neutral-, TO- oder Deep-Glaeser.

Es ist sinnvoll, den Glasboden mit einem duennen Wachsstreifen oder fluessigem Bienenwachs zu versehen, damit die Bienen leichter aufbauen.

Ja, der Holzeinsatz ist bei schonender Behandlung mehrfach verwendbar. Nach jeder Nutzung sollten Holz und Glaeser gruendlich gereinigt werden.

Quick Guide – 10 Frame DN Compact Hive according to Dr. Liebig with Glass Holder for Comb Honey

1. Prepare the hive

  • Load the box of the 10 Frame DN Compact Hive according to Dr. Liebig with well-developed brood or honey combs.
  • The colony should be strong, and the nectar flow should be good.

2. Place the glass holder

  • Carefully placethe glass holder (perforated plate) onto the top bars of the Frames.
  • Make sure the plate lies flat and nothing is tilted.

3. Prepare and insert the jars

  • Haveclean honey jars ready.
  • Apply a thin strip of wax or some liquid Beeswax to the inside bottom of each jar.
  • Place the jars upside down into the openings of the insert.

4. Place the empty frame on top and let the bees build it out

  • Place an empty frame over the glass holder and close the hive again.
  • The bees will now fill the jars with fresh comb honey.

5. Harvesting and Cleaning

  • Once the combs in the jars are capped, carefully remove the jars and seal them with lids.
  • Remove any wax residue from the glass holder and store it in a dry place.
