The Ornetin Velutina trap with UV selector further develops the selective trapping of the Vespa Velutina. It is screwed onto a twist-off jar and uses the familiar catching funnel system, combining it with a UV-reflecting surface that lies in the visible spectrum for Asian hornets. This allows the invasive hornets to see the trap better and they are lured into the trap glass with the help of the attractant. The interchangeable funnel ends also increase selectivity, as these can be used specifically for Vespa velutina queens or workers. There are separate escape options for the German wasp by removing the green caps from the escape openings for wasps. However, as the workers of the Asian hornet also fit through, this should only be done if only the queen of the Asian hornet is to be caught.
