Made from durable Hartpor Styropor®, suitable for 10 Zander frames or 12 standard-size honeycomb frames.
The boxes feature two 2-cm-thick handle bars that also serve as tilting aids.

Our hives are free of HBCD, a flame-retardant additive commonly used in the construction industry, and are manufactured in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Here you’ll find not only complete hives but also individual hive components – such as bases, various Boxes, and lids – as well as the corresponding accessories. Since we ship the hives and components unpainted and without Frames, the matching Frames and suitable paints are available separately.

Did you know?
Styropor® hives shrink by up to one percent within the first year after production. With an outer dimension of 50 cm, that amounts to half a centimeter. Most of this shrinkage occurs in our warehouse, but the process is not yet fully complete at the time of delivery. As a result, frames in “fresh” boxes have less contact surface than in older ones, and the mesh in the hive bottoms may come loose due to tension.
Ventilation Grilles in Styropor® Bottoms
The ventilation grilles in the bottoms are carefully glued in place with hot glue before shipment. We use only sturdy aluminum grilles that are 1 mm thick. Due to shrinkage and depending on usage, ventilation grilles may come loose from time to time; please keep this in mind. To reattach them, we recommend using hot glue with a hot glue gun or ApiNord hive adhesive, Item No. 2128. Please select the appropriate materials based on your specific use; thank you.
