The Anel® Langstroth frame feeder with floats is a narrow frame feeder made of food-safe plastic for Langstroth hives. It is ideal for safe, bee-friendly feeding with liquid feed and, thanks to its narrow width, fits into the brood chamber as a replacement for a frame.

The frame feeder is easily filled from above via the coverable inlet in the middle. The syrup runs down into the two feed chambers so that the floats rise and the bees can reach the feed safely and dryly via the integrated stairway.

The frame feeder is designed for Langstroth and Dadant US hives and is hung in the brood chamber like a frame.

The Anel® frame feeder holds approx. 3 kg of liquid feed, ideal for feeding or stimulation feeding of individual colonies.

Thanks to the two plastic floats and the steps inside, the bees stay on safe surfaces and reach the food with dry feet.

Sugar syrup or ready-made feed syrup is ideal. Thick feed doughs are less suitable as they flow more poorly into the feeding chambers.

The frame feeder is easy to clean with warm water and a soft brush. You should avoid using harsh cleaning agents to protect the food-safe plastic.

Quick guide - Anel® Langstroth frame feeder with floats

1. preparation

  • Open the hive and make space in the brood chamber (remove one frame).
  • Check that the frame feeder is clean and tight.
  • Prepare thefloats.

2. insert into the hive

  • Hang the frame feeder like a frame in the comb alley.
  • Make sure that the stairways are clear.
  • Align the frame feeder in a stable position.

3. filling

  • Push aside the black feed cover in the middle.
  • Slowly pour in liquid feed (sugar syrup) until both chambers are sufficiently full.
  • The floats lie in the feed chambers and rise with the feed level.
  • Carefully close the feed cover again.

4. during feeding

  • Close the hive and check the feed level regularly.
  • Refill if necessary, again via the central feed inlet.
  • Ensure that no feed residue overflows.

5. after feeding

  • If possible, allow the bees to remove the remaining feed.
  • Remove the frame feeder and clean with warm water and a soft brush.
  • Allow to dry well and store in a cool, dry place.
