The ApiCera® wax and pomace press 28 L is a powerful device for beekeepers who want to melt and press out Beeswax efficiently. With its generous 28 liter stainless steel tank and 2000 W heater, it is suitable for processing old combs, brood combs and uncapping pomace in one clean operation.

The wax is gently liquefied in the heated water bath and rises to the top, while the pomace and residues remain in the press basket or wax bag. The spindle press ensures a high contact pressure so that you can recover as much clean Beeswax as possible.

Important application note on the analog control

The analog temperature control from 60 to 200 °C enables very high settings, which are rather unusual for a water bath in this form. For safe operation, the water in the boiler should not be allowed to boil, as otherwise there is a risk of scalding from splashing water and overheated wax. Normally work in the range well below 100 °C and check the water level regularly.

It is ideal for melting down old combs, processing brood combs and pressing out uncapping pomace. This allows you to recover as much clean Beeswax as possible.

Depending on the volume of wax, it is well suited to small and medium-sized beekeepers who regularly process wax from several colonies. It is a solid solution for hobby and professional beekeepers.

Melting, clarifying and pressing take place in one device, which saves you time, reduces the number of decanting steps and gives you a very good wax yield with clean separation of pomace and wax.

Normally work at well below 100 °C and make sure that the water does not boil. This prevents scalding and protects the wax and material from overheating.

The clarified, liquid wax rises to the top in the water bath and can be easily drained into prepared molds or containers via the ball valve for the wax drain.

Quick guide - ApiCera® wax and pomace press 28 L

1. set up

  • Place the press on a flat, stable and dry surface.
  • Position the appliance so that the ball valves are freely accessible.

2. prepare

  • Fill the boiler with water, leaving sufficient distance to the edge.
  • Placeold combs, brood combs or uncapping pomace in the pressing basket or wax sack.
  • Place the lid and traverse correctly, prepare the spindle with T-handle hand-tight.

3. heating

  • Connect the appliance to a 230 V socket in accordance with regulations.
  • Set the analog temperature control in the lower range.
  • Ensure that the water does not boil to avoid splashing and scalding.

4. pressing process

  • As soon as the wax has liquefied, tighten the spindle evenly and apply pressure to the pomace.
  • Slowly increase the pressure until no more wax escapes.
  • Drain the clarified wax via the wax ball valve into prepared molds or containers.

5. after pressing

  • Switch off the heating and disconnect the appliance from the mains.
  • Allow the press to cool down, then remove the pomace and dispose of it properly.
  • Clean the boiler, press basket and accessories with warm water and dry thoroughly.
  • Store the appliance in a dry and frost-free place.

  • Never allow water or other liquids to get into the heating device. Never pull on the power cable. Do not touch the plug with wet hands. There is a risk of electric shock!
  • Do not fill with flammable liquids or materials. Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of flammable substances, gases or liquids. Never cover the heating cartridge or allow it to dry out. There is a risk of explosion and fire!
  • Wear heat protection gloves when handling molten wax/water. Beware of escaping steam!
  • Only set up the appliance on dry, heat-resistant surfaces. Ensure a secure stand. The melting pot may only be moved or serviced when it has cooled down.
  • Do not leave unattended during operation; keep children and pets away.
