The ApiCera® 28 L Digital Wax and Extraction Press is a high-performance device with a timer for beekeepers who want to efficiently melt and extract Beeswax. Important usage note regarding the digital control

Thedigital temperature control range from 1 to 200 °C allows for very high settings, which are rather unusual for a water bath of this type. To ensure safe operation, do not bring the water in the kettle to a boil, as this poses a risk of scalding from splashing water and overheated wax. Normally, operate at temperatures well below 100 °C and check the water level regularly.

It’s ideal for melting down used honeycomb, processing brood combs, and extracting Beeswax from uncapped honeycomb. This way, you can recover as much clean Beeswax as possible.

Depending on the amount of wax produced, it is well-suited for small and medium-sized beekeeping operations that regularly process wax from multiple hives. It is a reliable solution for both hobby and professional beekeepers.

Melting, clarifying, and pressing all take place in a single unit, saving you time, reducing the number of transfer steps, and yielding a very high wax yield with a clean separation of pomace and wax.

Generally, work at temperatures well below 100 degrees Celsius and make sure the water doesn’t boil. This will help you avoid scalding and protect the wax and materials from overheating.

The clarified, liquid wax rises to the top in the water bath and can be easily drained through the ball valve into prepared molds or containers.

Quick Start Guide – ApiCera® 28 L Digital Wax and Pomace Press

1. Setup

  • Place the press on a level, stable, and dry surface.
  • Position the unit so that the ball valves are easily accessible.

2. Preparation

  • Fill the kettle with water, leaving sufficient space from the rim.
  • Placeold combs, brood combs, or uncapped honeycomb into the press basket or wax bag.
  • Properly secure the lid and crossbar, and hand-tighten the spindle with the T-handle.

3. Heating

  • Plug the unit into a standard 230 V outlet.
  • Set the digital temperature control to a low setting.
  • Make sure the water does not come to a boil to avoid splashes and scalding.

4. Pressing Process

  • Once the wax has melted, tighten the spindle evenly and apply pressure to the pomace.
  • Slowly increase the pressure until no more wax is coming out.
  • Drain the clarified wax through the wax ball valve into prepared molds or containers.

5. After Pressing

  • Turn off the heater and unplug the unit.
  • Allow the press to cool, then remove the pomace and dispose of it properly.
  • Clean the kettle, press basket, and accessories with warm water and dry them thoroughly.
  • Store the unit in a dry, frost-free location.

  • Water or other liquids must never enter the heating element. Never pull on the power cord. Do not touch the plug with wet hands. There is a risk of electric shock!
  • Do not fill the unit with flammable liquids or materials. Do not operate the unit near flammable substances, gases, or liquids. Never cover the heating element or allow it to run dry. There is a risk of explosion and fire!
  • Wear heat-resistant gloves when handling melted wax or water. Be careful of escaping steam!
  • Place the unit only on dry, heat-resistant surfaces. Ensure it is stable. The melting container may only be moved or serviced when it has cooled down.
  • Do not leave unattended during operation; keep children and pets away.
