With a uniform external frame size of 50 x 57 cm, the Frankenbeute complete system offers suitable frames for different frame sizes. In addition, all Frankenbeute hive parts are compatible with each other regardless of the material and the extensive range of accessories offers almost everything a beekeeper could wish for in a hive system.

Hartpor Styropor® or just Hartstyropor® is a plastic that is ideal for the production of beehives due to its versatile properties.

- HBCD-free: our polystyrene is free from HBCD, a flame-retardant additive that is considered harmful to health
Hive parts made of Hartpor Styropor® shrink by up to one percent within the first year after production. With an external dimension of 50 cm, this corresponds to half a centimeter. The majority of the shrinking process takes place in our warehouse, but is not yet fully completed on delivery. Frames with "fresh" frames therefore have more contact surface than older frames. Our sturdy ventilation grilles with a material thickness of one millimeter are carefully glued in place with hot glue before delivery. Nevertheless, it is possible that the ventilation grilles may come loose due to the tension caused by the shrinking process and depending on use. We recommend using a hot glue gun with the appropriate hot glue or our ApiDana® hive glue to reattach the ventilation grilles.
