Product Description

The Anel® Dadant Blatt Brood Frame Feeder with Floats is a narrow frame feeder made of food-safe plastic for Dadant Blatt hives. It is ideal for safe, bee-friendly feeding with liquid feed, and its narrow width allows it to fit into the brood chamber as a replacement for Frames.

The frame feeder can be conveniently filled from the top via the coverable inlet in the center. The syrup flows downward into the two feeding chambers, causing the floats to rise so that the bees can safely and dryly reach the food via the integrated staircase.

The frame feeder is designed for Langstroth and Dadant US hives and is hung in the brood chamber like frames.

The Anel frame feeder holds approximately 3 kg of liquid feed, making it ideal for supplemental feeding or stimulating feeding of individual colonies.

Thanks to the two plastic floats and the internal staircase, the bees remain on safe surfaces and can reach the food without getting their feet wet.

Sugar syrup or ready-made feed syrup is ideal. Thick feed pastes are less suitable, as they do not flow as well into the feed chambers.

The frame feeder can be easily cleaned with warm water and a soft brush. Avoid using harsh cleaners to protect the food-safe plastic.

Quick Guide – Anel® Frame Feeder for Dadant Blatt Brood Hives with Floats

1. Preparation

  • Open the hive and make space in the brood chamber (remove one frame).
  • Check that the frame feeder is clean and leak-proof.
  • Have thefeeders ready.

2. Inserting into the hive

  • Hang the frame feeder in the comb aisle like a frame.
  • Make sure the access pathsare clear.
  • Position the frame feeder securely.

3. Filling

  • Slide the black inlet cover aside in the middle.
  • Slowly pour in the liquid feed (sugar syrup) until both chambers are sufficiently filled.
  • The floats will rest in the feed chambers and rise as the feed level increases.
  • Carefully close the feed inlet cover again.

4. During feeding

  • Close the hive and check the feed level regularly.
  • Refill as needed, again through the center inlet.
  • Make sure no food residue spills over.

5. After feeding

  • If possible, let the bees remove any remaining feed.
  • Remove the frame feeder, clean it with warm water and a soft brush.
  • Let it dry thoroughly and store it in a dry, cool place.
