The safety and operating instructions in the supplied instructions for use and the statutory accident prevention regulations must be observed.

Persons who are unable to operate this appliance safely due to their physical, sensory or mental capabilities, inexperience or lack of knowledge must not use it or must not use it without supervision or instruction by a responsible person.

Independent modifications may impair its functionality. The warranty is generally invalidated if unauthorized modifications are made.

This appliance is a honey refractometer within the meaning of the accident prevention regulations and the following safety instructions must be observed:

• Protect the refractometer from being knocked, dropped or scratched by hard objects or crystallized honey. This can permanently damage the device or render it unusable.
• Avoid touching the prism with your bare fingers. Fingerprints can falsify the measurement. The prism is made of glass. If it becomes damaged, do not touch it directly as there is a risk of cutting.
• Never hold or immerse the device under running water. This would render it unusable. Clean the appliance regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents that could damage the instrument.
• If you use substances to adjust the refractometer that are classified as hazardous (e.g. clove oil), please observe the relevant application and safety instructions for the product.
