Center walls
Our center walls made from 100% pure beeswax combine high quality and safety in a natural product: manufactured in the Lüneburg Heath and bearing the FBA (Fachverband Bienenzucht Ausrüstung e.V.) seal of approval, they stand for German quality workmanship from the region. The gentle rolling process produces pliable, easy-to-handle middle walls, which you can use to help your bees develop their combs.

Our middle walls are convincing:
- 100% pure beeswax: no additives, no compromises - for the best quality
- low in residues: tested to the highest purity standards and awarded the FBA (Fachverband Bienenzucht Ausrüstung e.V.) seal of approval
- Rolled: for slim, unbreakable central walls that are easy to process
- German quality: manufactured regionally in the Lüneburg Heath as a German quality product
- wide range: for the common frame sizes normal size, Zander, Langstroth, Dadant US, Dadant leaf and many more - available in more than 40 sizes

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about our center walls
You have the option of returning the beeswax to us as a clean block, so-called block wax, and exchanging it for new middle walls or selling your wax to us. You can send us the beeswax by post or forwarding agent at your own expense or hand it in at our store. Please note that we can only accept clean, fully melted beeswax (no old combs or wax from the decoating process).
We will exchange the block wax for middle walls at the following prices:

In order for bees to build out the frames in a structured way, they need a predetermined cell structure. The soldered middle wall made of beeswax thus serves as a rough blueprint for the later honeycomb. The indicated honeycomb cells are further developed by the bees, resulting in a flat, well-developed honeycomb with cells up to 12 mm high. In addition, the production of wax requires a considerable amount of energy from the bees (bees use approx. 6 kg of honey to produce 1 kg of wax), which is why soldering in center walls saves time and resources.
Rolled center walls are thinner and more flexible compared to cast center walls. They are therefore easier to process and have a lower risk of breakage. In our experience, rolled center walls have proven to be a practical solution, which is why we offer our center walls in rolled quality.
The cells on our middle walls have a diameter of 5.4 mm - the optimum size for the growth of healthy bees. In addition to the standard center walls, we also offer drone center walls with a slightly larger cell size of 6.9 mm. This is necessary so that the male drones, which are larger than their female counterparts, have enough space to mature.
For bees, the production of wax requires a considerable amount of energy. The naturally produced beeswax can be produced by each honey bee at a certain stage of its life cycle. To do this, they have glands in their abdomen that sweat out small wax flakes. These small strips of wax are then processed and used to build the honeycomb cells. The wax consists of a high proportion of myricin, long-chain alcohols and acids. With an average density of 0.95 kg/dm³, it is lighter than water and melts at a temperature of approx. 65° Celsius.
