Top Bar Hive City- Box
Single-room hives are among the oldest known bee dwellings in the world. Even today, this method of beekeeping is back in fashion. Adapted to common frame dimensions, they offer an alternative and supplement to classic magazines or rear treatment hives. Top Bar Hive City- Boxes are increasingly found in cities and urban centers, e.g. on roofs or balconies, which is why they are also referred to as "city boxes". Made from 20 mm thick and untreated solid wood. The knot-free wood is solidly glued and screwed. The delivery includes an external snap-on lid and additional metal cover.
The base is equipped with six feet 10 mm high and 20 mm wide for improved air circulation and increased protection against soil moisture. It also has a ventilation grille and two varroa control sliders, known as diapers, which can be pulled out to the side. The two flight holes are located at the front, can be closed and are additionally protected by two further "flight hole roofs".
In addition, the hives have two further ventilation openings on both front sides. These are fitted with a grille on the inside and can be closed from the outside.
